New England Illustration Prize 2023 winners announced

The New England Writers’ Centre has announced the winners of this year’s New England Illustration Prize for Children’s Picture Book Publishing.

The winners of the 2023 award are:

First prize

  • Elizabeth Misek (NSW)

Second prize

  • Kellie MacFarlane (ACT)

Third prize

  • Anke Noack (VIC).

Now in its eight year, the New England Illustration Prize this year invited artists and illustrators to imagine and create a colour illustration suitable for a children’s picture book on the theme ‘dreaming is a super power’. The judges of the 2023 award were writer, editor, and specialist librarian and head of acquisitions (publishing) at libraryforall.org Lara Cain Gray, and photographic artist and illustrator Lorena Carrington.
