Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards 2024 shortlists announced

The Wheeler Centre has announced the 2024 shortlists for the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards.

In each category, the shortlists and highly commended titles are:

Fiction ($25,000)

Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 1 February, alongside the overall Victorian Prize for Literature, worth $100,000, which will be awarded to one of the category winners other than for an unpublished manuscript. Last year’s Victorian Prize for Literature winner was Cold Enough for Snow (Jessica Au, Giramondo).

In addition to the cash prize, the winner of the Award for an Unpublished Manuscript will receive a two-week residency at the McCraith House in Dromana. Last year’s recipient was ‘One Divine Night’ by Mick Cummins.
