APA announces 2024 REP editors

The Australian Publishers Association (APA) has announced the 15 editors selected for the 2024 Residential Editorial Program (REP), an intensive program for mid-career editors to work on an unpublished manuscript with experienced mentors.

The editors selected for the 2024 program by the APA’s Editorial Working Group, from 32 applicants, are:

  • Alisa Ahmed (Ultimo)
  • Chrysoula Aiello (Hachette)
  • Tom Bailey-Smith (A&U)
  • Armelle Davies (Affirm)
  • Melissa-Jane Fogerty (freelance)
  • Shannon Kelly (HarperCollins)
  • Melissa Lane (PRH)
  • Sophie Mayfield (Ultimo)
  • Catherine McInnes (MUP)
  • Casey Mulder (freelance)
  • Camha Pham (freelance)
  • Anna Thwaites (freelance)
  • Bianca Valentino (freelance)
  • Kate Whitfield (A&U)
  • Joanna Wong (Hardie Grant).

Editorial Working Group chair Meredith Curnow said the selected editors ‘represent publishing houses large and small, freelance and in-house editors, and with support from Creative Australia we have been able to offer scholarships to three First Nations editors’.

Scholarships for freelance editors were provided through IPEd. The selected editors will be mentored by experienced editors Linda Funnell, Malcolm Knox and Grace Lucas-Pennington.
