Australian books nominated for British Science Fiction Association Awards

Gunflower by Laura Jean McKay (Scribe) and We Who Are Forged in Fire by Kate Murray (Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing) are among the titles longlisted in the 2024 British Science Fiction Association (BSFA) Awards.

Presented annually since 1970, the awards are voted on by members of the British Science Fiction Association and by the members of the year’s Eastercon, the national science fiction convention, held since 1955.

We Who Are Forged in Fire has been nominated in the ‘best fiction for younger readers’ category.

Gunflower has been nominated in the ‘best collection’ category, while one of its stories, ‘Those Last Days of Summer’, was also nominated in the ‘best short fiction’ category.

Other categories include best audio fiction, best artwork, best nonfiction, best novel, best short nonfiction, and best shorter fiction.
