Bacon nominated for Philip K Dick Award

Local author Eugen Bacon is among the six nominees for the 2024 Philip K Dick Awards.

Nominated titles include:

  • Danged Black Thing (Eugen Bacon, Apex Book Company)
  • The Museum of Human History (Rebekah Bergman, Tin House)
  • Infinity Gate (M R Carey, Orbit)
  • Wild Spaces (S L Coney, Tordotcom)
  • Where Rivers Go to Die (Dilman Dila, Rosarium Publishing)
  • These Burning Stars (Bethany Jacobs, Orbit).

The Philip K Dick Award is an annual award ‘for distinguished science fiction published in paperback original form in the United States during the previous calendar year’. This year’s judging panel, chaired by Kali Wallace, includes Nicky Drayden, Gordon Eklund, Christopher V Rowe and Lisa Yaszek.

Last year’s winner was The Extractionist (Kimberly Unger, Tachyon Publications), and a special citation was given to The Legacy of Molly Southbourne (Tade Thompson, Tachyon Publications).

The 2024 award ceremony will take place on 29 March, at the Norwescon science fiction and fantasy convention.
