Graham longlisted for Carnegie Medal for Illustration

In the UK, Australian author Bob Graham has been longlisted for the Carnegie Medal for Illustration (previously known as the Kate Greenaway Medal for Illustration), which was announced along with the longlist for the Carnegie Medal for Writing.

Graham was longlisted for The Concrete Garden (Walker Books), which was among several Australian works nominated for this year’s Carnegie Medals.

The books longlisted for the Carnegie Medal for Illustration are:

The Yoto Carnegie Medal for Writing is awarded to a book written in English for children and young people that sparks an outstanding reading experience. The Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration celebrates an outstanding reading experience through illustration.

The shortlists for the 2024 Carnegies will be announced at a panel event at London Book Fair on Wednesday 13 March. The winners’ ceremony will then be held on 20 June. The winners will each receive a specially commissioned golden medal and a £5000 (A$9755) cash prize.
