Allen & Unwin, Australia’s largest independent book publisher, is looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager to take responsibility for the overall running of the Allen & Unwin and Murdoch Books production function.

The role leads and manages the Production Department and is responsible for all aspects of production including pricing, quality, and managing internal and external schedules and processes involved in the printing and delivery of all books.

The successful applicant will have proven experience and knowledge of local and overseas book printing, including costing, scheduling, and logistics and will possess the following skills:

• Strong eye for detail
• Highly organised with excellent project management skills
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute comprehensive plans and schedules
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions and work in a collaborative way
• Effective negotiation skills.
