Aotearoa New Zealand publishers represented at Bologna

Eight publishers are exhibiting at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair as part of the Aotearoa New Zealand collective stand.

The stand will be managed by Publishers Association of New Zealand Te Rau oTākupu (PANZ) membership services manager Katherine Shanks with assistance from Juliet Dreaver. The stand is decorated with artwork of New Zealand wildlife by illustrator and author Martin Bailey, who is also co-owner of Black Chook Books.

Publisher representatives at the stand are:

  • Peter Dowling (Oratia Media)
  • Frances Plumpton (Frances Plumpton Literary Agency)
  • Julia Marshall and Rachel Lawson (Gecko Press)
  • Eboni Waitere (HUIA Publishers)
  • Lynette Evans (Scholastic New Zealand)
  • Don Auckram and Sue Heazelwood (Auckram Publishing).

Books from OneTree House and Beatnik Publishing will also be represented on the stand by exhibiting titles virtually on the collective website.

The stand is located at Hall 25, Booth A75, which is close to the Australian Stand at Hall 25, A87. According to Publishing Perspectives, there are a total of 1456 exhibitors from 90 countries at this year’s fair.
