Puffin UK to launch graphic novel imprint
In the UK, Penguin Random House has revealed the logo and publishing program of its new graphic novel imprint, Puffin Graphics, reports the Bookseller.
The new imprint is aimed at 6+ readers. Puffin Graphics editorial director Naomi Colthurst has acquired three titles Unfairies (Huw Aaron), described as a ‘hilariously anarchic debut’, Into The Void (Meggie Johnson) and The Far-Out Five (Olaf Falafel). In addition, original graphic novels previously published by PRH—Judd Winick’s Hilo series (Random House Graphic) and Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson (Dial)—will be reissued as part of Puffin Graphics.
‘We love graphic novels, both as readers and as publishers, and were proud to have been early adopters of the format for UK children,’ said Puffin fiction publisher Ben Horslen and Puffin publishing director Ruth Knowles, adding that ‘with graphic novels being the fastest growing area of the children’s market of recent years, we cannot wait to also launch Huw, Meggie and Olaf—all stand-out talents who will surely set the market alight in 2025.’
