Vale Geoff Selig

Executive director of IVE Geoff Selig has died.

Print21 writes:

The print community is reeling, as it mourns the passing of industry titan Geoff Selig, executive chair of IVE, who has died while on holiday in Europe.

He passed away following unforeseen complications arising from an accident in Barcelona.

Selig played a major role in the Australian print industry over the past 40 years, culminating in the creation of IVE, its launch onto the ASX in December 2015, and its successful growth into the country’s premier marketing and communications business, and the nation’s biggest print operation.

The board, management and whole IVE family have expressed deepest condolences to his family following the tragic event.

Gavin Bell, the company’s lead independent director […], has been appointed interim chair of the IVE board.

Geoff Selig, together with his brother Paul, also a director of IVE, was a grandson of Oscar Selig. Oscar Selig began what eventually became IVE more than a century ago, in 1921. The company began printing in the 1960s. Geoff Selig had been at the helm since the last century.
