Ann Moyal Nonfiction Fellowship 2024 recipients announced

Varuna, the National Writers’ House has announced the three recipients of the 2024 Ann Moyal Nonfiction Fellowship.

The recipients are Anna Hickey-Moody, director of the Arts and Humanities Institute at Maynooth University and author of eight academic books, for ‘Carbon Cultures’; Jennifer Martin, journalist, author and senior lecturer in communication at Deakin University, for ‘Eva Sommer, Girl Reporter’; and Patricia Pender, poet, author and associate professor of English at the University of Newcastle, for ‘Safe Work’.

With inaugural fellowships run last year, the annual Ann Moyal Nonfiction Fellowship program offers three fellowships to established writers with an Australian focus who are developing an original work founded on research in the broad fields of the humanities and social sciences. The fellowship was established with a bequest from the late Ann Moyal, an Australian historian and author and a Varuna alumna. More information about the fellowship is on the Varuna website.
