Ingram titles added to Spotify

In the US, distributor Ingram Content Group has announced a ‘collaboration with streaming giant Spotify to bring audiobooks of independent publishers to the subscribers of Spotify Premium’.

The company said that titles from over 100 publishers distributed by Ingram would be available on the audio streaming platform at launch, including titles from Europa Editions, Milkweed Editions, G&D Media, Bard Press, and New Society Publishers, with Publishers Weekly reporting Spotify would add over 1000 Ingram titles to its Premium audiobook offering.

A spokesperson for Ingram told Books+Publishing that there were currently ‘no uniquely ANZ publishers on the list’, but they added that many of the publishers included in Ingram’s Spotify catalogue hold ANZ rights, ‘including Milkweed and their audiobooks by Ada Limón, New Society Publishers, G&D Media, and others’.

As previously reported, Spotify began offering Premium subscribers 15 hours of audiobook streaming per month in the US, UK and Australia last year, extending the offer to Aotearoa New Zealand, Canada and Ireland in April this year.
