Hugo Awards 2024 winners announced

The winners of this year’s Hugo Awards, presented annually by the World Science Fiction Convention, have been announced.

Among the winners are:

Best novel 

  • Some Desperate Glory (Emily Tesh, Orbit)

Best novella

  • Thornhedge (T Kingfisher, Titan)

Best novelette 

  • ‘The Year Without Sunshine’ (Naomi Kritzer, Uncanny Magazine)

Best short story 

  • ‘Better Living Through Algorithms’ (Naomi Kritzer, Clarkesworld)

Best series 

  • Imperial Radch (Ann Leckie, Orbit)

Best graphic story/comic 

  • Saga, Vol. 11 (Brian K Vaughan, illus by Fiona Staples, Image Comics)

Best related work

  • A City on Mars (Kelly Weinersmith & Zach Weinersmith, Particular Books)

Lodestar Award for Best YA Book

  • To Shape a Dragon’s Breath (Moniquill Blackgoose, Random House Worlds)

Astounding Award for Best New Writer

  • Xiran Jay Zhao.
