Readings chair to run new festival, Blue Mountains Writers’ Festival program launched

A new Carlton-based writers’ festival and the 2024 Blue Mountains Writers’ Festival will both take place this November.

Readings chair Mark Rubbo is launching a new literary festival, to be called A Day in Carlton, reports the Age.

The inaugural festival, which will run on 15 and 16 November, will feature among its guests Julia Busuttil Nishimura, David Marr and Thomas Mayo.

‘Carlton has always been an important crucible in the Australian publishing industry, so we see [the festival] as an opportunity to pay homage to that wonderful history,’ said Rubbo.

The Age reported that tickets to the festival would be made available in the coming days.
