Arts and Disability Initiative funds literature recipients

Four literature recipients are among Creative Australia’s Arts and Disability Initiative, which supports 10 projects overall, with funding totalling $300,000.

The successful recipients related to writing and illustration are:

• Anthony Sarre
• Asphyxia 
• Liam Adams
• Matthew Ottley.

The investment by Creative Australia is intended to ‘extend the practice, networks, skills, and ambition of d/Deaf artists and art workers and those with disability’. Creative Australia developed the initiative in response to research involving artists and arts workers with disability, shared in the Towards Equity: A research overview of diversity in Australia’s arts and cultural sector report, and a review of arts and disability initiatives during 2019–2021.
