Senior editor—children’s trade publishing, Melbourne

Hardie Grant Publishing

We are seeking a creative, experienced senior editor to join Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing, the young readers’ division of one of Australia’s leading independent trade publishers.

Working with the passionate and award-winning children’s team at Hardie Grant, you will edit and project-manage an exciting array of illustrated junior fiction series, picture books, graphic novels and illustrated nonfiction books. You will oversee projects from manuscript stage through to press, including structural editing, copyediting and proofreading, liaising with creators, and managing production and scheduling.

Along with substantial editorial experience and expertise, you’ll have an appreciation for visual storytelling, impeccable project management skills, and a commitment to author care.

If you have 3+ years’ experience in editorial (preferably in-house) and a passion for making books that kids love to read, we’re excited to hear from you. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in children’s publishing.
