Production manager, Sydney

Hachette Australia has an exciting opportunity to join our successful production team as a production manager. This is a permanent, full-time position based in our Sydney CBD office.

Reporting to the product and production director, this role manages the production team and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production of the Hachette Australia and Hachette Aotearoa NZ adult and children’s publishing programs.

The successful applicant will have proven experience and knowledge of local and overseas book production, including printing, costing, scheduling and logistics, and will possess the following skills:

  • People management experience and enthusiasm for leading and developing a small and dedicated team
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Comprehensive and up-to-date technical knowledge of all print and digital formats
  • High levels of organisation with excellent project management skills and the ability to effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute complex production plans and schedules and adhere to budgets
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear written and verbal instructions and work in a collaborative way
  • Effective negotiation skills and proven financial acumen
  • Energetic and responsive outlook, with strong problem-solving skills.
