New England Illustration Prize 2024 winners announced

The New England Writers’ Centre has announced the winners of this year’s New England Illustration Prize for Children’s Picture Book Publishing.

The winners of the 2024 award are:

First prize

• Jennifer Goldsmith (entry is pictured)

Second prize

• Mel Corrigan

Third prize

• Luke Spindler.

Now in its ninth year, the New England Illustration Prize this year invited artists and illustrators to imagine and create a colour illustration suitable for a children’s picture book on the theme ‘reading is magic’. The judges of the 2024 award were children’s illustrator and author Cheryl Orsini; and Wombat Books and Rhiza Press publisher, editor and director Rochelle Stephens.
