Self-published authors shortlisted for ACT Notable Book Awards
Numerous self-published authors have been shortlisted for the ACT Notable Book Awards, which highlight and celebrate the excellence and talent of writers in and around the ACT region.
In the fiction category, S G Bryant is shortlisted for A Death in Black and White, and Tanya Davies is shortlisted for Then Eve.
In the fiction category, Helen Topor is shortlisted for Neither King nor Saint, and Biff Ward is shortlisted for The Third Chopstick, while in the poetry category, Maurice Nevile is shortlisted for Translating Loss: A haiku collection
The winners will be announced at an event at Canberra Contemporary Arts Space on 29 June. The ACT Notable Book Awards are administered by Marion, formerly the ACT Writers Centre. For more information about the awards, visit the website here.

Over the past month, the winners of a number of unpublished manuscript awards have been announced, including the Australian/Vogel’s Literary Prize, the Penguin Literary Prize, the Text Prize, and UWA Publishing’s Dorothy Hewett Award.
Other literary award news from the past month include the winners of the Aurealis Awards, presented for science fiction, fantasy and horror writing published in 2022 in Australia; the BookPeople 2023 Book of the Year winners; the Miles Franklin Literary Award shortlist; and the Australian Book Design Award winners.
